London – Millions of people in Spain, Portugal and parts of France lost power on Monday due to an unknown network problem, the Spanish government confirmed to ABC News.
The Spanish Government said that he convened an emergency crisis meeting to fix the situation as soon as possible.
Red Eléctrica, the corporation that operates the national electricity grid in Spain, said it is working to restore energy to Continental and Portugal Spain in an update published on the company’s website.

Red Eléctrica announced that electricity should be completely restored within six to 10 hours.
“Power has already been restored in substations in several areas of the north, south and west of the Peninsula, and consumers in these areas begin to be supplied,” said the electricity update.
Red Eléctrica is also working to provide energy from generators, which is part of the procedure to restore the power supply, the update added.

Meanwhile, the authorities asked people to stay at home and avoid circulating, while emergency generators were also being implemented.
“The plans to restore the electricity supply have been activated in collaboration with the companies in the sector after the zero that occurred in the peninsular system,” Red Eléctrica wrote in a publication to X. “The causes are being analyzed and all resources are dedicated to solve it.”
