Senate Republicans have announced plans to launch their own research on former President Joe Biden on their cognitive skills while they are in office, claiming that they want to investigate who directed the country during what they call the Declive of Biden.
The Republican sensible Eric Schmitt and John Cornyn will co -face a hearing of the Judicial Committee of the Senate of the first place of next month on the subject, which they say they were covered by members of the media. The approach echoes the repeated statements of President Donald Trump about Biden’s mental aptitude, while the president and criticisms about the use of self -depend by Biden, a mechanical device to automatically add a signature to a document that has been used by several previous presidents, including Trump in his first mandate.
“We need to overcome the failures of the media, which were legends as he pointed out, or the political issue of ‘Was it for Biden or against Biden?’ It is a constitutional crisis, where we basically have a mentally incompetent president who is not in charge, “said Cornyn. Thursday in “The Will Cain Show” by Fox News.
“The question is: who is in charge? Who is the finger in the nuclear button or nuclear codes? Who can declare war? How do we defend the nation when we basically have an absent president? And those are constitutional problems that we must address and correct,” said Cornyn.
On Friday, after delivering his first public comments since his office announced that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, Biden responded to journalists who asked about Democrats who say he should not have run again. “Why didn’t they run against me then? Because I would have defeated them,” said Biden, added not to regret it.
Biden denied any accusation of mental decline, saying that he is proud of his history as president.
The news of the next hearing occurs after Cornyn wrote a letter to the attorney general Pam Bondi last week, urging the Department of Justice to investigate whether the Biden administration was being legal in how they presented their cognitive condition to the country.

He asked that the Department of Justice open an investigation into “any possible violation of the federal law around the representations made to the American people about health and well -being” by Biden.
“The responsibility of the Congress is actually bigger than that. It is to provide supervision and make sure there is more transparency for future presidents so that we understand how this happened and how we can prevent it from happening again,” said Cornyn in Fox News.
Cornyn, in his letter, cited the May 18 report of the Biden representatives who announced that they had diagnosed aggressive prostate cancer in late stage.
Other Republicans have also been asking for answers to Biden’s health during the course of their presidency.

The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told journalists that former First Lady Jill Biden should testify in front of the Congress about the alleged “cover -up” of Biden’s health.
“I think, frankly, the former first lady should talk about what she saw regarding her husband and when she saw him and what she knew,” Leavitt said.

“I think anyone who watched the videos and photographic evidence of Joe Biden with his own eyes and a little common sense can see, this was a clear cover -up, and Jill Biden was certainly complicit in that cover -up. There is documentation and video evidence that he clearly tried to protect his husband from the cameras,” he said.
The president of the Supervision Committee of the House of Representatives, James Eat, a Republican, recently requested a series of High Rank employees of the White House Biden to make interviews transcribed around the issue of the alleged decrease in Biden.
Eating, who spoke with Sean Hannity of Fox News on Wednesday, also suggested that he could quote Joe and Jill Biden, as well as the former head of the White House Cabinet, Ron Klain, during the investigation of the House of Health and the examination of the former president of his use of a highway to sign legislation and executive orders.

Eating also recently requested that Biden’s White House doctor Kevin O’Connor appears for a transcribed interview as part of the investigation.
The calls for Biden probes occur after the launch of “original without” the CNN presenter Jake Tapper and the axios reporter Alex Thompson, who made statements about “the ability to denial of the bidens and the lengths they would make to avoid transparency over health problems.”
In response to the launch of the book, a Biden spokesman said that “there is nothing in this book that shows that Joe Biden did not do his job, as the authors claimed, nor did they demonstrate his accusation that there was a cover -up or conspiracy.”
“Nowhere show that our national security was threatened or when the president was not involved in the important affairs of the presidency,” said the spokesman in a statement to ABC News. “In fact, Joe Biden was an effective president who directed our country with empathy and ability.”
The main Democrats have greatly avoided defending Biden, since the new details surrounding the health of the former president and the alleged cover -up has emerged in recent weeks.
The leader of the minority of the House of Representatives, Hakeem Jeffries, when the host of CNN, Wolf Blitzer, asked on Wednesday if you can trust the Democrats as new details are emerging, he eluded directly commenting on the condition of the former president.
“What I can say is that we are not looking back, we will continue looking forward because at this time, we have real problems that must be addressed in the name of the US people, including the republican effort to snatch medical care, snatch food assistance and hurt veterans,” Jeffries said.
During a recent press conference, Jeffries also accused the Republicans of “conspiracy theories that they sell” aimed at making the country “backward at a time when they are actually removing the medical care of the American people.”
“No, as Chamber Democrats, let’s look forward,” Jeffries added.
The leader of the majority of the Senate, Chuck Schumer, has also dodged any questions about Biden’s health, answering Kasie Hunt de CNN earlier this month saying: “Kasie, we are waiting.”
But other Democrats, such as the representative Rue Khanna, who defended Biden’s mental and physical aptitude during the 2024 campaign, admitted that he was wrong, but said there was no cover -up before the elections.
“I don’t think it was a cover-up … but I think that advisors and people close to Joe Biden owe him an explanation … What I don’t think the Democratic Party can do is: ‘Let’s talk about the future. Let’s go beyond this,'” Khanna told ABC News “this week”, co-artchivado Jonathan Karl last Sunday.
